Privacy Policy

We do not collect personal information from the KulosAr app. Your journal is processed on your device, and we cannot access it.

Who we are

KulosAr is developed by Olanrewaju Oyinbooke. This policy covers the native KulosAr app and this website. For privacy questions, contact oyinbookeola@outlook.com.

Your information stays under your control

Journal entries, people, relationship details, personal facts, drafts, and insights are stored on your device. Journaling analysis, voice transcription, and AI generation run on your device. We do not send your writing or recordings to an external AI service. No KulosAr account or login is required.

Files and photos you attach to a question in Ask are read on your device. The text read from them, and a small preview of a photo, are kept with that conversation; the original files and photos are not kept. Their text is given to the on-device model answering that question and the next one, and is never sent to Apple's Private Cloud Compute.

Optional iCloud sync

When iCloud is enabled and available, the app uses Apple's CloudKit to sync supported data through your private iCloud database. That data leaves your device for your own iCloud account, not a KulosAr server. We cannot read your private database. Apple's storage, encryption, and account settings apply; Advanced Data Protection is managed in your Apple Account settings.

Your memory

Settings › What KulosAr Knows shows your personal saved facts and a summary written on your device from your own journal and chat messages. The summary is encrypted in your private iCloud. Model replies and attached file text are excluded. Edit, rebuild or delete the summary and edit or retract saved facts at any time. Chat proposals to remember or forget a personal fact wait for your approval. Turning memory off stops chat using the summary and saved facts; journal and relationship features remain available. Your memory is not shared with our other apps.

Optional permissions

  • Microphone and speech recognition: for on-device dictation, in the journal and in Ask. The app does not keep an audio recording.
  • Camera: to take a photo for a question in Ask. Its text is read on your device and the photo is not kept.
  • Contacts: to recognize names and birthdays locally when you enable Contact Recognition.
  • Calendars: to show your Apple, Google, and Outlook events together in the app and its Calendar widget and, unless you turn off "Use calendars for insights", to prepare notes for meetings with people you know. Events are read on your device, never stored by KulosAr, never changed, and never uploaded; Google and Microsoft accounts connect through iOS Settings, so KulosAr never receives those sign-ins.
  • Notifications: to schedule local reminders and briefings.
  • Face ID: to unlock the app when you enable app lock. KulosAr does not receive your biometric data.
  • Photos you choose: may be used for a person's profile and stored with that profile, or attached to a question in Ask as described above.
  • Photo library: only if you allow it, to show your latest photos above Ask's message box so you can attach one. Nothing is read from a photo until you choose it.

You can change permissions in your device's Settings. Core journaling does not require these optional permissions.

Model downloads and diagnostics

Optional AI models are downloaded from a model hosting service. The service receives the network information needed to deliver the download, such as an IP address; your journal is not sent with the request. Downloaded models run locally. The current app does not send analytics events to us or use advertising trackers. Apple may provide crash and diagnostic reports under your Apple device and TestFlight sharing settings.

Our other apps

Settings lists our other apps under More from TheOyinbooke; to show them, KulosAr asks Apple's App Store for the list when you open Settings. Apple sees that request, as with any App Store visit; no personal data is sent, and the list is kept on your device for a day.

Export and deletion

You can export your data from Settings and choose where to keep or share the file. You control the exported copy. Erase removes your app data and propagates deletions to iCloud when sync is available. Deleting the app removes its local storage but may leave data in iCloud; use the in-app erase control first if you also want to remove synced data. We cannot recover a journal or delete copies you exported elsewhere.

This website and support

Settings links to this website for the privacy policy, terms and support. Those pages open in Safari only when you tap them; the app itself never contacts this website.

This website has no sign-up forms, advertising, tracking cookies, or analytics scripts. Vercel hosts the website and may process ordinary request information, such as IP addresses and technical logs, to deliver and secure it. See Vercel's Privacy Notice.

If you email us, send TestFlight feedback or report a reply from Ask (which opens a draft email containing that reply, sent only if you send it), we receive the information you choose to include so we can respond. Please avoid sending private journal entries. Support correspondence is used to handle your request, not for advertising; you can contact us to request deletion, subject to any applicable recordkeeping requirements.

Changes

We will update this page and its effective date if these practices change. A change that sends journal content outside the current on-device and private iCloud workflow will be explained before that feature is used.
